As fine tea merchants, we are absolutely dedicated to sourcing the finest teas and making those available to gourmet consumers and fine food and gift establishments. Our teas are treated as gastronomy and assessed as fine wines - we are certified tea sommeliers providing tasting notes based on our expert cuppings.
The Sloane Tea Company is directed by Ms. Hoda Paripoush and supported by a cadre of certified tea sommeliers, professional chefs, culinary school educators, restauranteurs and tea industry associates.
Raised with the tea samovar at the heart of her family gatherings, Ms. Paripoush is among the elite group of the first certified tea sommeliers in North America, a graduate of the US Tea Council Specialty Tea Institute program, a member of the Tea Association of Canada and Tea Association of the USA. She is the first sommelier to have received accreditation from both Canadian and US tea associations.
Her tea knowledge is further supplemented by professional studies in fragrance blending and perfumery at the Studio Des Fragrance in Grasse, France. Building on the principles of perfumery, she has created a select line of teas that uniquely combine the elements of scent, aroma and taste, resulting in exceptional teas with heady notes.
Ms. Paripoush personally has selected each Sloane tea and hand-picked related Sloane products. In many cases, she has visited supplier tea estates and worked side-by-side with tea garden managers to source the finest teas.
The result of her dedication? She has woven her skills and talents to create an exceptional line of exclusive teas for Sloane Tea Company, which has exclusive North American distribution rights to select teas.
